The aura
|
The aura is the name given to our subtle body - a body which is just as real, and in many ways more important, than the physical one. It is also, in its own way, a physical thing, albeit existing on a different level of physicality.
The aura's intimate connection with they physical body means that the one tends to reflect the other. A physical accident can affect the aura. Most illness, on the other hand, actually starts in the aura, only manifesting in the physical structure later on. Because healing works on the aura, it treats the root of ill-health, rather than the cause.
Many thinkers view the aura as being, in reality a collection of different bodies, existing on different levels. This is a largely academic point. What is certainly true is that the aura does have different parts and different levels of vibration within it. It contains the chakras or psychic centres, which are responsible for taking in and sending out energies on these various levels.
